Wide eyed teenagers lined up around the block to get a first look at Wellington’s newest cosmetic store.
Australian store Mecca opened its second Mecca Maxima store in New Zealand in Wellington on Thursday.
The shop introduced two new bands to the New Zealand market: Too Faced and Urban Decay.
University student Isaac Polaczuk, 18, waited outside the store since 9am on Wednesday to save the number one spot in the line for his girlfriend Annabel Szabo.

“I’m not kidding, I’ve been here for over 24 hours,” Polaczuk said.
“I slept in my car for a bit of it. I’m exhausted.”
Szabo couldn’t keep the smile off her face and said she wasn’t sure how much she would spend in store.
“Hopefully not too much but probably quite a bit,” she said.
“We wanted to be the first people here. It’s kind of exciting to be the first people in the new store and getting the first products, it’s pretty cool.”
The new store was offering a limited number of mystery envelope vouchers worth varying amounts for everyone who spent $90 in store on Thursday morning.
Polaczuk would also buy something for his girlfriend so she could grab another envelope.
A group of 15 year old girls were eating cookies to fuel themselves before the onslaught began, and had been lining up for almost three hours.
Hinewaroa Tualima, 15, said she wanted some of the new Too Faced products and Urban Decay lipstick.
“We have a long list, just everything,” said 14-year-old Rosie Barber.
Mecca Cosmetica was located on Lambton Quay and had moved to the new spot on Willis Street. It sold more than 60 international cosmetic brands.
It’s just one of many international brands to expand its brick and mortar presence in Wellington.
Wittner shoes, Topshop, and David Jones have all moved into the capital in the past year.
