The mother of a man on the run from police is pleading for him to come forward.
Turiarangi Tai is wanted by police in connection with the death of 22-year-old Choyzn Koroheke in Pakuranga, east Auckland last Tuesday.
His mother, Susan, made the plea in a video released on Counties Manukau police’s Facebook page on Monday afternoon.
Police believe Tai may be in the Auckland, Waikato or Bay of Plenty areas.

“We love you, we miss you, we want to keep you safe,” Tai’s mother said.
“If you need my help I’ll be with you every step of the way. If you need me to come with you to the police station I’ll come with you.
“Please son, we need you to come forward.”
Koroheke, a mother of two, was shot at close-range at her Auckland home.
Police began a homicide inquiry last week.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin Tiernan said last week he wanted to warn those who may be hiding Tai that they were committing a crime.
He said they would be liable to be charged.
Police located a firearm at the residence that they believe was involved in the incident.
Tiernan said they considered Tai to be possibly armed and dangerous.
