Trio armed with machetes steal cigarettes from Huntly dairy

Three males armed with machetes stormed into a Huntly dairy on Sunday and stole cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

The thieves entered the Riverlea Dairy on Harris St shortly before 7pm, Senior Sergeant Andrea McBeth, of Waikato police, said.

They’re believed to be youth offenders of slim build and Maori descent, McBeth said.

“They were all wearing black jerseys, with bandanas to cover their faces.

“They left on foot and got into a white station wagon further down the road.”
