Three teenagers have been arrested after a pursuit with police where the vehicle was spiked “multiple” times.
A police spokeswoman said the car failed to stop on Moorhouse Ave about 11.35pm on Friday night.
Six units were involved “in various capacities” before the car eventually stopped on the corner of Idris and Waimakariri roads about midnight, she said.
“The pursuit was abandoned by police before the vehicle was followed at road speed and spikes were put in place. Six units were involved in various capacities.”
Two 16-year-olds and a 13-year-old were arrested, with the 16-year-old driver facing multiple charges including dangerous driving and failing to stop.
“He is remanded on bail and due to appear in the Christchurch Youth Court on Tuesday. The other two are being dealt with by youth aid.
“As the matter is now before the courts, police are unable to comment further.”
