Ram raiders forced their way into a liquor store on Friday to steal cigarettes and alcohol.
The evidence left after the 12.15am raid at Thirsty Liquor on Chapel St in Tauranga points to a vehicle being used, Sergeant Phil Wilkinson said.
“There was evidence that bollards had been damaged out the front of the shop, and the doors had been forced,” he said.
A silver Mazda Familia or similar vehicle was seen leaving the area, heading south on Chapel St.
Police have conducted a forensic examination and are following lines of inquiry.
