Police say replica pistol used to rob the Kelvin Grove Mini Market

A replica pistol was allegedly used to steal a 30-gram packet of tobacco and chewing gum.

Brendan Matthew Pickford appeared in Palmerston North District Court on Thursday charged with aggravated robbery of the Kelvin Grove Mini Market.

Pickford, 25, appeared in front of a Justice of the Peace Kerry O’Keefe and was kept in custody until May.

The robbery of the dairy sparked an armed police callout on Wednesday. Pickford was found in central Palmerston North and arrested.
