The trial of seven men accused of kidnapping a Thai woman will kick off in the High Court at Auckland on Monday morning.
Jindarat Prutsiriporn, 50, died when she fell, bound and gagged, from the boot of a moving car in Papatoetoe in 2016.
Seng Lek Liev, Sodarith Sao, Apichart Korhomklan and Luigi Havea are on trial for the woman’s manslaughter and kidnapping.
Masi Vaifali and Joseph Benjamin Haurua are each defending a manslaughter charge.
Tevita Matangi Fangupo is facing a kidnapping charge.
It is alleged the group kidnapped Prutsiriporn on February 29 last year on a drug-related matter.
The trial is expected to last 12 weeks.
