Some people in the Waikato region have lost access to the internet.
Spark reported the fault shortly before noon, saying some of its customers in Hamilton and Taupo were among those affected.
Spokeswoman Lydia Tebutt said a Chorus-owned cable had been cut during roadworks just outside Tahuna.
“We’re working alongside Chorus to get it fixed as quickly as possible. We can’t speak for other internet providers regarding impact to their customers, but we’re aware of it impacting broadband services to some Spark customers in parts of the Waikato and Taupo regions,” she said.
“We apologise for the inconvenience to our customers and hope to have services restored as soon as we can.”
